C'mon people put on your thinking caps and let's do some brainstorming on this pressing issue.
The Homeless.
I'm afraid there is no easy answer here. With the skyrocketing cost of living, the situation is only going to get worse. We have a small RV community of 4 or so starting down at the waterfront. They seem to be multiplying and it'll only get worse I'm afraid. As a matter of fact, the thought has crossed my mind to cash out and get myself an RV and do just that.
Let's do some research and see what other communities are doing, and if it is working. We HAVE to find someplace to allow them a peaceful existence. But where? It will require effortless access to public transit and services.
The Food Banks are experiencing record growth. Record growth is good in a lot of businesses, but not food banks.
There is a Mission Sustainable Housing Committee that has several studies and reports in there worth reading.
